Who it’s for: Most ages / abilities

Time needed: 4 x 2 hour sessions – depending on design
What we make: Small bench or coffee table.
What’s provided: All tools and materials
Venue needs: Hard surface floor, minimum 6x6m space, light and heat, parking with access to the space. Suitable for outdoors in good weather.
Accessibility notes: Suitable for most, get in touch to discuss any concerns
Safety notes: Participants should wear suitable clothing, we will be working with sharp tools, guidance on the safe use of tools will be provided.
What happens
After a briefing we will use traditional shave horses, draw knives and spokeshaves to shape the legs. We will drill the holes for the legs with a brace and bit.

- Accurate use of traditional tools
- Layout marking skills
- Confidence to design and make your own piece of furniture
Materials & sustainability
This workshop is entirely unplugged, no power tools, just traditional hand tools. Materials are either reclaimed or sourced from a local tree surgeon.
