Who it’s for: Sessions for different generations to work together

Typical group size: 6 young people (age 8-16) accompanied by an adult

Time needed: 2 hour sessions, the number of sessions will depend on the project chosen.

What we make: These sessions can be designed to suit, we can do short projects like sprig vases or mug tables or more complex designs like benches.

What’s provided: All tools and materials: use of Shavehorse, Drawknife, Spokeshave, Brace and drill bit.

Venue needs: A floor that can be brushed, minimum 10x10m space, light and heat, parking with access to the space. Suitable for outdoors in good weather.

Accessibility notes: Suitable for most, get in touch to discuss any concerns

Safety notes: Participants should wear suitable clothing, we will be working with sharp tools, guidance on the safe use of tools will be provided.

What happens
Participants will get a short briefing and guidance on the use of tools followed by guided, hands on work. Each pair will work on the project using a shavehorse, drawknife, and spokeshave. We may also use a brace and bit

Materials & sustainability
This workshop is entirely unplugged, no power tools, just traditional hand tools. Materials are either reclaimed or sourced from a tree surgeon.
