Who it’s for: Suitable for adult or youth groups and all abilities. A great shared project for an existing group.
Typical group size: 6-12
Time needed: 2 hour sessions, usually 2-4 sessions depending on design
What we make: The group work together to design and make a sign.
What’s provided: All tools and materials
Venue needs: A floor that can be brushed, minimum 10x10m space, light and heat, parking with access to the space. Suitable for outdoors in good weather.
Accessibility notes: Suitable for most, get in touch to discuss any concerns
Safety notes: Participants should wear suitable clothing, we will be working with sharp tools, guidance on the safe use of tools will be provided.
What happens
Participants will get a short briefing and guidance on the use of tools. We will discuss the importance of sustainability and good design followed by guided, hands on work. Signs are usually created by cutting out wooden letters with a coping saw and bench pin.

Materials & sustainability
This workshop is entirely unplugged, no power tools, just traditional hand tools. Materials are either reclaimed or sourced from a tree surgeon.
